Essays

Essay writing is more than presenting ideas—it is a way of thinking, questioning, and engaging with the world. At the Intersectionality Lab – European Research Center, we see essays as spaces where research meets lived experience and theory meets reflection.

Writing invites us to challenge assumptions, connect personal perspectives with broader structures, and make invisible systems visible. In a fast-moving world, essays create space to slow down, explore complexity, and think critically.

We encourage writing that goes beyond summarizing knowledge: engaging with theory, questioning whose voices are heard, and reflecting on one’s own position.

When accessible and thoughtful, essays can open conversations, bridge academia and communities, and help reimagine the narratives shaping our societies. ✍️
